Two Day School Team Building Programs

November 4th, 2015 in School Assemblies

Two day school team building program with Songspun

I just got home from a two day school team building program in Groton, Massachusetts with the second graders there. It has been a while since I did one of these and it was great to kind of go back to my roots.

I started out many years ago doing a lot of these types of residencies for an organization I worked for called the Capital Region Center For Arts In Ed. It was a satellite program of the Lincoln Center that did an approach to aesthetic education. We did a lot of creative and effective programs and workshops with schools. I used to do a lot of these types of workshops and it was great to do the team building activities through music and watch the kids collaborate and figure out the tasks I gave to do as teams. It’s very rewarding when we go back and reflect as a class and hear them describe how they worked out the challenges of working as a team and also to hear them state how they can use these ideas to help them in other areas of their school and outside lives.

We finished the two days at the Groton school with a friendship assembly. It was an effective and fun way to wrap up this project!

You can see some of my experience and background working as a school performance professional. If you would like me to contact your school for an assembly performance or event, contact me online or at 518-798-2030 today!
